WHO AM I?

My name is Dean Capel-Davis, Accredited Exercise Physiologist and founder of Pillar Exercise Physiology.

Before entering the allied health profession, I served in the Australian Defence Force. Following a medical discharge from military service, I experienced firsthand the challenges that injury, pain, and changes in health can have on day-to-day life. That experience ultimately shaped my decision to pursue a career helping others navigate similar challenges.

Today, I have a particular passion for supporting Veterans and helping them maintain their independence, function, and quality of life as they age. I understand that living with injury, pain, or chronic health conditions is rarely straightforward, and that the impact often extends well beyond what can be seen on a scan.

My role is to work alongside each individual to help them regain function, maintain independence and promote long term well-being as they continue moving towards the life they want to live.

At Pillar Exercise Physiology, I believe that exercise is one of the most powerful tools available for improving health, managing chronic conditions, and enhancing quality of life.

My approach combines pain management, functional rehabilitation, and evidence-based exercise prescription to help individuals improve their capacity for everyday life. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I work to understand how pain, injury, illness, or reduced function are affecting a person's ability to participate in the activities that matter most to them.

Every treatment plan is tailored to the individual, taking into account their unique experiences, goals, and circumstances. I believe that successful rehabilitation is not simply about reducing pain or improving fitness - it is about helping people build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to take ownership of their health and continue making progress long after our appointments have ended.

For Veterans in particular, maintaining physical function, independence, and connection to meaningful activities plays a critical role in long-term wellbeing. My goal is to empower clients with practical strategies and sustainable habits that support healthier, happier, and more active lives.

At Pillar Exercise Physiology, we go beyond rehabilitation, helping you build a strong foundation for better health.
